Got my Carter in today and I am really enjoying the sound, playability and all. Many Thanks to Larry Behm for sending me a guitar EXACTLY like he described and Thanks to Carter for building a fantastic product. Im going to bang around on this one till spring or so and then its time for a brand new one made just for me. This thing sounds great and plays perfectly. Many Thanks Yall!!

I live about 45 minutes from Larry. I had the pleasure of hearing that beautiful blue carter you bought. If i would have had the cash I would have snatched it.Larry is a fine gentleman and a great teacher.Have fun with your axe.It's a real beauty.

Congrats on your new Carter. They really are great guitars. The Carter Trinity (Ann, Bud, And John)are three of the nicest folks I know and provide great service.

Hey Larry, no its not that deep a blue. Its just a little bit lighter than the pic.

It is the same color as Al Brisco's guitar if you have seen his. I just love the color.

I played that guitar before it left the factory. It's among the best Carter guitars I've played, and I compared it side by side with one of my beloved 1965 Emmons wraparounds. Very, very close in sound. Congrats to lucky stud who received this guitar.

Herb thanks for the support of that great guitar. The reason I sold it, I went back to a PP I got from Bobbe S. He made me a deal I could refuse, otherwise the cost would go up and up.

Rick, I just got one of those about 3 weeks ago also. Nice guitar, isn't it

Mine is a rosewood D-10, 8/5 with BCT. The tone is incredible. Quite an upgrade from the Carter Starter!

I couldn't agree more about both the quality of these fine guitars and the great folks at Carter. I really need two guitars, one for the bus and one for the studio. And after I played my blue Carter for a while I knew I'd want another one, and the new Ebony Birdseye I have is even nicer. The older one is pre- BCT and I really wondered about what the difference might be since it's a truly fine sounding and playing guitar. After playing a newer model, I have to say the BCT is everything they claim at Carter. Noticeably more sustain, better tone and action. And incredibly, the strings actually feel better under the picks and bar. I can't really explain that, but it's really noticeable. If I could afford another guitar, I would have gotten in line for Larry's! Kudos to Carter for a super fine instrument- and Congrats to Rick for picking up on a great axe!

I have had a D10 Carter with BCT and now have a U12 Carter with BCT and They are great guitars for the money and lightweight too......al

I recently ordered a Carter D10, 8&5, unseen, unheard. (I had no chance to play one, and didn't have the experience to know what to look for, anyway.) I bought it on the recommendation of many players. It should be here in a few weeks, and I'll post a little note when it does.

Sure puts my mind at ease to read all these positive notes on Carters! By the way, I ordered the blue birdseye mica, too. It will be exactly like Al Brisco's guitar.

Larry:

I recall when you got the Carter, you stated it "had the sound". Why would you let it go in favor of a guitar much less versatile mechanically with (as I recall) pedal action longer and stiffer?

Yes this guitar has a great great sound especially after I put the Emmons single coil in it. It played just great and looked like a million blue bucks.

The PP I have plays harder, the finish is flat and well used, it took me two months to settle on what changes I could put on and a lot of time making those changes, and I know what I am doing.

Makes one wounder why I would go this direction. Easy--string separation and PP tone. I A B'd both guitars back and forth, called Bobbe S and told him he was not getting his guitar back. I watched the faces of the steel players in the crowd, I watched my fellow band mates jumping up and taking notice with big smiles on their faces, the rest is history.

Once you get that PP sound in your head it is hard to replace.

Carter's are a great guitar, I said it often and still do.
