Where Is The Opry Now ?
Did they say it is now aired on CMT or some such station and it must be a "pay for view" channel right ? We can't get it here now on our basic cable stations anymore.

Hello Bill;
You did hear right..The Opry has moved from TNN to CMT..That is the County Music Television station that plays mostly newer country video's..I watched an hour special tonight on CMT hosted by Vince Gill-toward the end of it he brought on Lorreta Lynn & she did 2 songs..Also saw an hour long tribute to bluegrass music-very good show also so at least we can see something..It is NOT a pay per view station here but it is included in different packages..You might call your local cable company & see if they list it in a package..Good Luck...Ron
[This message was edited by Ron Whitworth on 18 August 2001 at 09:30 PM.]

I saw the show too...
and was most impressed by the V/G part.
If this is an example of what CMT is going to do,I will look forward to the GOO for a few times.
( I hope this isn't just a fluke)

The Opry tonight really was bad, too much of the blond talking instead of music and what music that was there was bad except for Jim Ed and Jack Greene. There was a hippie girl singer and a kook rocker singer. Tommy was not there much and Teresa was totally missing. Stinkum. Sure wish Garth would buy the whole thing and keep it pure.

I caught a re-broadcast of the Opry this morning. It sure went downhill from the 1st week to the 2nd week. It couldn't sink a lot further without becoming totally unwatchable. What's happening on stage while all the interviews and film clips are going on -- seems like they're broadcasting about 50% of the live show for that hour? CMT has been plugging the Opry all week long with commercial spots, like it's a crown jewel in their programming. But they are doing a lousy job of packaging and presenting the product. If they keep this talk-show format -- with the blonde that appears to know anything about country music -- I predict they'll have no viewers at all by Halloween.
