Connie/Johnny/Mike Lawn Pa.

Post by thurlon hopper »

Saw Connie with her fine band at Lawn, Pa.
last night. Sounded fine as always and i
expected to see johnny playing his new 3
neck steel, but he was playing an S-10 and
doing some amazing stuff on it. Jack Stoner
if you happen to read this, do you know a
player by the name of Don Lunden hope i
spelled it right. He was playing a Mullen
and had a fantastic guitar player called
Spider Webb with him. Really hot local band
that gained the notice and respect of the
audience. Best Always TJH

I remember jamming with Spider Webb at Truckers Inn in Jessup,Md. in about '82 or '83. He was a great player and told great jokes. Mike

Hi Thurlon,

Johnny uses the S-10 when he works for Connie, especially when they're on the road. It's lighter to fly the guitar in the road case too. (The triple neck wouldn't fit in the road case anyway). I think if it's over 75 pounds, they charge more money to fly it. So that makes flying the triple neck out of the picture.

The single neck you saw was actually his lacquer guitar that he got in 1998. It was a D10-11. I came home one day from work, and he was out in the garage making a single neck out of it. He took the extra pedals and the back neck off of it, and then put a pad on it. It made it lots easier to fly, and with Connie, he plays only E9th anyway, so he didn't need the C6th neck. Thanks for your compliments!
