Does anyone know Jack Mathews

Post by Nick Reed »

Back in '97 I met Jack Mathews at Scotty's in St. Louis. He is a very fine Steel player. Does anyone know how to get in touch with him if he's still around.
Thanks, Nick

I know a Jack Matthews from Texarkana (not sure if he still lives in AR or TX or nearby). Haven't talked to him in years, but I spoke with someone there awhile back and they had done some gigs with him. You might check some search engines for that greater area. If this is the same Jack who plays steel, he's wonderful and get this fantastic tone too.

Jack plays at Ronnie Neighbors Steel Show in Hot Springs Ar. every year in October. You could probably get a phone number from Ronnie at Ronnie's Steel Guitar Shop (501)623-4603.

Nick,
I've known Jack for many years and yes he is a fine pecker(I mean picker) Image. I think he still lives in Magnolia, AR. His phon number is 870-234-5855. Hope you find him.

If that number isn't current maybe I can get it from a guy I work with. Hope you can reach him.
[This message was edited by ESnow on 02 August 2001 at 11:42 PM.]

Jack can get more great sounds out of a barefoot steel with reverb only than most players with a $20,000 rack. He is also one of the finest people in the world. Only thing wrong I think he still plays a Zum Image
