George Jones Choices CD Question

Post by Bill Nauman »

I think it was the media that said that George was using a cell phone and listening to his CD mentioned above when his accident occured...Just wondering which song it was?
Super album and very nice steel on it.

I don't think even ol George himself could answer that one!. Good CD though. I buy everything I can get on CD of his.

Did you notice that the song "Cold Hard Truth" is a spin off music wise to "He Stopped Loving Her Today" ? Bill in Vegas

...the way I understand it, the CD hadn't yet been released, to the public anyway, but the basic tracks were already down at the time of the accident on March 6th 1999....regardless, the point to me is "Choices" was not chosen to be on the CD as a result of the accident, it was chosen before..and didn't stop George from making another bad choice...if that is correct, I would have liked the song a whole lot more if it had been written after the accident and not before...but I could have my facts wrong...

I was told by a friend of mine in Nasville, that the Choices CD is unique.

George had only cut 'scratch' vocals for this album. He had the accident.... and they finished it up before a 'final' vox mix was cut. I suppose they wanted to release before he "didn't make it".

This is cool because you get to hear the possum when he is just laying back.

And wow does he sound better than ever!

The Bruce Bouton cut is one of my favorites.....it is not him playing - he wrote one of the cuts on Choices.

See ya!
