Randle Currie was fantastic with the Brad Paisley show last night at the Heart of Illinois Fair in Peoria, Illinois.
Before the show at the Meet and Greet I had a chance to talk with Randle about his gig. He said it is a "Picker's Gig" for sure.
Randle plays a D-10 Franklin thru a Nashville 400 and a Digital Delay stomp box. The BP band uses in ear monitors so his amp was on stage but pointed to the rear of the stage behind the drum riser.
His tone was very 'Paul Franklin-like'. Meaning it has a nice edge with rich mids.
He replaced Jim Heffernan who left the Paisley band in December.
Randle also played Dobro (a real one thank goodness) on a new BP cut called "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive".
If you get a chance to check out Brad Paisley DO IT!
Some say Alan Jackson is truly country, he is - but Brad Paisley is truly country and PICKS as well. He and his double bender (B& G) paisley Telecaster put on a 95 minute show playing all of his hits and some very well polished covers such as: Bartender Blues (George Jones), Lookin at the World Thru a Windshield (Del Reeves), Tiger By the Tail (Buck Owens), Mamma Tried (Merle Haggard), King of the Road (Roger Miller), and many others.
Randle you were great. I look forward to seeing you back in this area soon!
