Wonder if we added all the years?

Post by Rick Garrett »

If we added all the years of musical experience from everyone who frequents this great forum, wonder how many years exprience we would have? I am brand new almost to PSG but I can count the 2 years that I took lessons on that old lap steel. So thats 2 whole years for me Image How long you boys been at this? Wonder who has the most years by now.

No Grand Cru, Crowbear. Probably a non-vintage 3 liter jug! Image

So, how far are you from St. Emillion? I use to suck down some great red from a small vineyard, Chateau Lescours. Their product hasn't been around here in a long time and I'm well overdue for a fill up. And yes, please administer any spell check where needed! Image

I'm 37 and have been playing steel since age 17...20yrs. I thought that was a long time, but, compared to everybody else's 50+ I'm kind of ashamed!

If my math is better than my steel playing these days I must have started when Gene Jones did. I started with Montgomery Ward
6 string lap steel in November of 1946 & wanted to make those fills like the guy on Gene Autry's Melody Ranch. His radio program.(Was that the name of it?) I said I wished I knew that tuning & Bobbe's Dad (my brother) said it sounds like a minor chord to me. I later found it to be the C# min tuning by cranking up the B (2nd string) to C#. Image
