Needed: Sierra Crown cross-rod bushings:

Post by Pete Burak »

Needed: Sierra Crown cross-rod bushings:
I need at least one Sierra Crown cross-rod bushing (I have one), to add a desired change (actually, I could use any extra hardware you might have... cross rod, 2-bell cranks, misc hardware, etc, to install two lowers on RKR).
If you have a Sierra Crown, could you peak underneath and see if there are any extra/un-used cross rod bushings in the holes in the rails.
Thx!

Are the crossrods round or square, Pete? I have some parts, but I'm not sure if they're from my old Crown or from the Session guitar. I don't remember what the Crown looked like underneath.

These ones are round, and the ones I have are kind of semi-clear white/grey in color.
I'm told alot of Crown guitars left the factory with extra bushings in some of the unused cross-rod holes on the rails.
Thx,
Pete B.

Sorry, Pete. The ones I have are for the square crossrods.

Hi Pete, did you try Tom at Sierra In Molalla? I hope this isn't a stupid question, I just found out about his move recently.

Pete, I sold my Sierra Crown S14 last year. If you don't have any luck finding the bushings, you could buy a Delrin rod of the same diameter as the bushing and have bushings machined from the rod. McMaster-Carr Supply Company sells Delrin rods. If you don't have their catalog, just go to their website and do a search for Delrin.

Best of luck and keep on pickin'!
