Hey Eddie...thanks for the inquiry....most of the time I use a straight A tuning...E C# A E C# A, the brand I play is SLYDE, I think they're made here in Nashville....BTW,do you know who I ask about what Fender Stringmasters are worth? I know of one for sale and I don't know what to offer.
Thanks,
Russ H.

Well, there just happens to be The Jody Carver Fender Steel Guitar Club residing in No Peddlers.

If you would kindly tell us more details about this particular guitar, I'm certain that you'll get some opinions.

I think it's safe to say that they seem to sell for $500.00 - $600.00 per neck in general.

Thanks Russ for the info. I just recently obtained your "Steel Pickin" on Connie Smith CD and it has just about played non-stop. Some really great playing, but the sound and style of your dobro playing, is really nice. It's just a classy CD, from start to finish. Thanks for your reply, Eddie

These "resos" were built by Bill Merritt, now deceased. These were "top-of-the-line" guitars! Bill, once, told me that Hal Rugg tried one out,& liked it so much that he sold his "Dobro",& got a "Slyde". They were so named, for the late Gene "Slyde" Wooten.
Bill was a MASTER luthier, having worked for Sho~Bud,& Grammer guitar for many years. He,also, played bass for "Tex" Ritter for many years. Bill was a WONDERFUL man! I,still, miss him.

Don't know if it's still there, but George Gruhn in Nashville had a Slyde guitar on his web page a few weeks ago.

Hey Smiles'

I have the last Sho-Bro that Bill & Shot Jackson hand made. He was with Uncle Don & the Drifting Cowboys at the time.
This was just before Shot died. I'm proud to have the last Sho Bro made by these two before they passed on.

Hi Russ, Yeah I worked with Bill with Tator and he had showed me a Martin he rebuilt the top on that was totally shattered and made it look new. Also he was a great man, friend and musician, sorry to hear he passed.
