I have a switchcraft amphenol connector and am stumped as how to connect the ground. The barrel is smooth with a set screw which holds in the spring. The two choices for a solid connection are solder the ground to the spring, slide it in and rely on the set screw to hold it tight or bring the ground outside and solder it to the ouside of the connector, not very attractive. From what it says on the switchcraft site, the spring just slides over the braided ground and the screw holds it. Would that be adequate w/o soldering it anywhere? Any suggestions?
