Hello everyone, new guy here but been watchin'from behind the ropes. Wish I would of joined sooner. Anyway, I'm 29 yrs old, play guitar and sing in a blues band called Andre & the Night Hounds. We consist of a three piece, guitar, bass, and drums, and we have sax and harp sit in on some of the songs. I love lap steels and curently own 4 of them. I tune my steels and some regular guitars to D, E. I have been messing around with the lapsteel for about 2 years, regular guitar for about 15 yrs. Just wanted to thank everyone for all the usefull information I learned about steel guitar and jsut to say that I'm gald to be here.
thanks,
Andre'[This message was edited by Andre Nizzari on 21 March 2005 at 09:50 AM.] |

Welcome home bro. I was born in the Bronx myself, Hunt's Point Hospital.
My grandparents lived around Boynton & Wheeler Ave.
I have not been back since I was 7 years old. I bet it's a whole different world now.
I love the blues! |

Welcome Andre - yep, lap steels are cool. I have a few of 'em myself, I usually play them on stands. I like triple 8 console steels the best - for the multiple tuning possibilities . .
I love Blues, I've played in some Blues bands over the years . .

Loni,....it's da Bronx! I think you need to come home for a refresher course.
Welcome Andre. I often wonder who would do their food shopping at "The Terminal Market." Seems kinda final to me.
When you can, please post when and where you're playing. You never never know who'll show up! |

Thanks Andy, for the kind words, yes that's one of my originals. I recorded that with a cakewalk program in my bedroom last August. Hence my indpedendent label, "Bedroom Blues Records." I used a late 60's National Dynamic and a blues jr. for that recording. |
