Is there anyway to periodically clean the string oxidation, or is a just a continuous process that gets worse and can't be removed?

Hey Ron. I see nothing wrong with posting how excited or happy you were with your purchase. That's kinda part of what this forum is all about. Ain't it?
I don't post much, but I get a lot of information and quite few laughs reading. Image Actually ya never where where a post may go.
Hey, I love my Black Phoenix too! Image

I've been thinking about getting one. I think I read somewhere that the coating on the Black Phoenix is harder, is that true? Bill Stafford let me try his bar, I loved it but he said it would cost him about $450 to make one now. Of course he also said he tunes all fourteen of his strings to "E". I wanted to sound just like him so I ruined a lot of strings before I figured out he was joking.

I have a black phoenix .750 x 2.98 and I love it. I tried going back to chrome and there is no comparison in the slickness. I have found that the 2.98 could stand to be longer, so I am going to use it on the 6 string Harmony I just bought and order a 3.25 for my 8 string guitars.
BTW, Chuck is a great guy to do business with!

Ah ha ..... he neglected to tell you you had to buy fourteen sets of strings and use only ONE out of each package. Image

I bought a black bar from Chuck awhile back, and sent it back because the covering was not smooth at the back end, and Chuck sent me a new one, no problem. After using a little, I didn't like the weight (lighter than my chrome bar) and I gave it to Derrick Mau. What I really liked about the black bar was that it was a lot easier to hold onto, and seemed quieter.

Do I dare ask what it weighs?...just kiddin folks. I've read lots of good things about the black rajah and anything that'll make me sound better has got to be good. I'm gonna get one too.
