Howard..get serious your question regarding Ralph Hanzel was tempting so I was pulling your leg.
Ralph was a partner in a firm that was producing accordians. His accordian was called the Lesman Accordio Organ. It was as close as sounding to a Hammond as you could get. Fender sales had distributed the Lesman for a few years, but problems with manufacturing changes caused Fender to abandon the idea.Ralph Studemann was Hanzels partner in the Lesmann company. Al Marcus may have some additional information on this as Lesmann was located in Michigan during those early days. If Al sees this he may have a comment regarding this.
Fender early on had distributed the Hayes Band Instruments as well. Sax Trumpet Clarinet etc. That too was dropped when Fender made its mark in the guitar and amp market.
The name Hayes was taken from a Fender rep of the pioneers of Fender as he was a fine Trumpet player. Charlie was killed in an auto accident not far from the orginal Fender plant in Fullerton Calif.
AS for Al Kelly? I never really knew much about him only that he was popular on the East Coast playing steel with a few groups of names I cant recall.He I beleive was from out of Ohio somewhere.

Jody, at first I thought that you might be serious about "Hanzel & Gretel", but then when I saw "Kelly's Bar" I knew that I was getting the routine. About Meyers.....I would have come up with Oscar Meyer and his tube steak amp.

Nice start-up enrollment!!
Let's see, Chris has 13 Fabulus Fender's. They must be locked up in Ft. Knox...that's a lot of "oldies but goldies".
Just for fun, how many Fender's do we have altogether, in the enrollment group? I hope Chris is enrolled!!!

I have what I think is a Champ - tuner pan w white tuning knobs, white pick up cover, rectangular fret markers, chrome knobs, walnut finish, 3 legs, Fender in script and pat. pending on the tuner pan.
I have T8 Custom that I picked up off ebay some years back. The body is cracked in a couple of places.
One other, but that's another story for another time. |

Gruhn's guide threw me off because they describe the Studio Deluxe as having dot & diamond fret markers, and mine has rectangles. |
