I recorded these songs last year with an 8 string home made lap steel. Tuning (high to low) Bb, Eb, B, G#, F#, Eb, C, A I took the arraingments from the Emmons Xmas book. There were no slants used on these tunes. This is a great tuning. Help me out - that tuning...B? B13??

I'm chordally challenged.

I see a B maj triad (B-D#-F#),
a 6th (G#),
a dom7 (A),
a Maj7 (A#),
and then there's that pesky C??

oh, BTW - beautiful tracks.

Thanks Chris, I don't know what the right name for this set up would be. Maybe B13/BMaj6/G#9/F#dim? What are the rules governing the way in which a tuning is named? Anybody know? Don

Yeah, we're in the same boat. Naming chords/tunings is mysterious - once you get beyond 4 notes, I get lost. The question will no doubt be answered some of our more academically literate musicians here.

Then again, who cares, if it sounds so good, right?
