Having trouble re-installing

Having trouble re-installing
iDVD on a G4 iMac OS 10.3.9

What its doing is , saying that the programs are running !
Quit programs it install .
They don't show running in the Finder .

I have tried Booting up in Safe mode & it still says the programs
are running .

anyone have any ideas what has happened ?

Try going to Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor. Run Activity Monitor to see what apps/processes are actually running. You can kill them from there.
