Combining drives

I just put my old hard drive from my music computer into my home/internet computer as a D drive. It had music files and program files on it. Should I remove the program files off of it and keep it strictly as a music file drive?

I would recommend removing program files and Windows files. They are wasting space and cannot be used on the new computer, as is.
