I am trying to create a web page but I get "Error opening socket to server localhost". Is there a forum for individuals who are trying to set up their computer to create local web service only and web pages?
Thank you;

Well now, that I don't know b0b. I'm on XP. I just thought I could start using java to set up a web page and I really wouldn't have to set up any networking or other things.
This is sort'a like when I tried to lay down under my guitar to press a lever, pick string 5, and see what moved. That didn't work too well either

If you're writing in Java, Tomcat would probably be the easiest server to set up: http://tomcat.apache.org/
Tomcat also works for running plain old HTML pages.
As for your steel guitar analogy, it's more like you were trying to play without plugging into your amp.
