Posting Tabledit Files ?

Post by Michael Dene »

I'm using Tabledit and am wondering how to post .tef files on the forum. I don't have my own website and the free graphic host I use (imagecave) doesn't recognise .tef files or any of the "export" formats.

thanks in advance

You could try zipping with WinZip or similar archiver, and posting them that way.

There is no way to "upload" files to the forum. Your really need to have the file on a server somewhere and then just link to that file from the forum.

Your best bet would be to find a way to convert to ".jpg", ".bmp" or ".gif" files which could be uploaded to the website.

John's right.
An example of a Tabledit tab I posted is at http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum8/HTML/002197.html

I did a print preview, than a screen capture, which converts it to a jpg. Next I cropped the jpg, and uploaded it like any picture to my web space. Then link to that picture in your post.

If you don't know how to do a screen capture, tell us what operating systenm you have, and we can help. (Win XP, Mac, ...?)

Another option is to use Tabledit to export as ASCII. Then cut and paste that text into your post. It won't show the notes, only tab.

Thanks guys ..

I'll play around with Joey's idea .. in a .jpg format it should work on imagecave. I'll yell if I get lost, but I should be ok.
