Interesting website for checking ballpark values of real estate, though not all that accurate.

Yeah, quite the buzz in the appraisal community. Is an automated valuation model (AVM), which have been around for a while, this is just the first one to hit the web.

When your mortgage company sends you a letter saying "you may be able to get up to $XX,XXX," they've used an AVM to estimate the value of your house.

It listed my house at about 40K over what the actual market value is, according to local real estate salesmen.

My house was built in 1992 and most of the homes in the development were built in 98 and later so that threw off the program.
