I have broadband(1.1Mbps) and these clips run very slow. Am I doing something wrong or is their site?
Cheers, Arch.

What clips Archie? You didn't supply any links to them so how are we to know what this is all about? Also, please describe what the clips are about.

Yes like Jim said; it takes time for a video file to load as opposed to a Mp3 sound only clip; so just let it load or watch it again after it buffers its way through.
Oh and Wiz; he is speaking of the youtube.com website that makes is possible for folks to load their own video files to a website to view> like the one below of Jerry Donahue noodling around on his Guitar. http://www.youtube.com/w/Jerry-Donahue?v=aTQk6khJLY4&search=jerry%20donahue

I also found the site extremely slow.

Also:
Is there a way to save these clips to your hard drive after they have played once?
They do not seem to be stored in the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Thanks

no issues here...

Unless they offer a DOWNLOAD link you may require a capture device for the video..

I believe there are several free software capture programs across NETLAND...

Hi Tony,
do you have any suggestions for capture programs?
I downloaded a couple, but none of them can do Flashplayer videos that are on YouTube.

Thanks
Peter

Peter,

You don't really need a capture program, although that does offer some transcoding options.

If you have Firefox and the Greasemonkey extension, try this. Tip: This script saves files with a .php extension. Change it to .flv (FlashVideo). You'll need a .flv capable player. There are some listed on the above page and some let you transcode to other formats.

This method doesn't require Firefox but it involves a few more steps. You'll still need an FLV player.

Finally, This page is probably the cleanest method but who knows how long it will remain up. It also converts Google and iFilm videos. Don't forget to rename the resulting .php file.

I think that the quoted quote is what you mean when you say "What do you mean?"

Sorry. You Tube clip links are the `in` thing on the forum at the moment. I wrongly assumed people would know what I was on about. Here's a clip which, ironically, plays without stopping; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXvpqDjVjKA&search=hank%20williams
Cheers, Arch.

I capture the sound using Audacity, straight from computer speakers headphone out, back into computer input.
It's neanderthal, I know, with the signal going digital-analogue-digital, but it sounds OK.
