A Google toolbar has appeared from nowhere, and resides just under my normal toolbar at the top of the screen.
There is also something called Google Desktop Search, at the bottom right hand side.
How do I get rid of them?
Is it anything to do with Real Player?
I downloaded Real Player to listen to some specific songs, but I want to put Windows Media Player as the default player.
Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance,
R B

For Real Player file type defaults open the player and click: Tools. Then from the file list, click Content and then, Media Types. In the middle there you have to click: "Manually configure media types for RealPlayer". Then click the "Select" button to change the settings.

The Google toolbar is included in the Real Player install. Try clicking Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs and see if it's listed. You might be able to un-install it from there. Good luck!

I've got some pop-up thing going on with my laptop. Stuff pops up almost constantly. It's been a royal pain. Nothing malicious, just real persistant. Adding URL's to my favorites file and shortcuts to the desktop. Ad-ware and SpyBot both find them and remove them, but they return on re-start. I did a search of the programs running and you can buy a program to remove it, but it cost like $40.00. Just a major information gathering scam!
