Is this possible?
When I click the address I get (in my case) AOL player and of course, it plays just fine.
Can a CD be made of this?
(or is this considered "stealing"?) |

there is a great program called Audio Hijack Pro that can record any music played through your computer regardless (beware!) license and copyright issues.

Sorry I forgot to mention it (mac only), still a great program with a lot of extra features, including slow down without changing the pitch, compressors, reverbs, delays etc...

You can use any PC recording program, (even the built-in Sound recorder) that comes with Windoze.
Make sure you go to the Volume control panel (the one that looks like a mixer). Then go to Options and choose the recording section of the mixer(not Playback).
Then select "What you hear" as the recording input (sometimes called "Mix) and start recording whatever you hear on the PC. That's all!

Nic, that sounds too easy to be true!
I tried it and my Volume Control program has the Recording Option panel, but does not ask (allow) the "record what you hear" option or "mix"....just mic, cd, and line in.
I'm running XP Pro.
p.s.how would you start this built in record program...if you had it? |

OK....I did some playing around and learned on my own!
Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Sound Recorder....there it is!
I had to click on Wave mix and adjust the recording volume a couple of times, but I got it!
Cool! I didn't know that was in there. |

Tony, just make sure that all XP sound effects are switched off. If not, you might click the mouse or do something else and you will record warning beeps as well!

Right-click on the link and select Save Target As (or whatever you have that's similar) to save the file to your hard drive. Then you can do whatever you want with it.
