My Dell Dimension 8200 went down last week.
At this point in time, I unhooked the wife's stereo equipment and installed my own stuff.
The stereo set up went easy enough and worked the first time out.
The computer, once repaired, likewise worked independently fine.
NOW THE PROBLEM. I plugged the turn table into the back of the stereo amp where it had performed admireably since I acquired it more than one year ago. Now, when the tone arm goes down on the record, I get this loud electronic HUMMMMMM and have to cut down the volume a huge amount.
Nothing has changed, to my knowledge. Cords are the same, etc.
Any suggestions???

Thanks for the helpful suggestions. They did the trick EXCEPT...........(now that the noise is gone!)

I cannot get the music to get into the computer as it has done for me during this past year.

I can't recall which little tiny holes on the back of my Dell Dimenions 8200 that I had the cord plugged into previously. Just can't seem to get the right combination.

HELP! (and many thanks!)
