I'm on a Mac and I'm wondering how I save a Real Player audio stream as an mpeg. It looks like I don't have an option to save except as a RP file. Also, I've saved some streams as Quick Time movies from sites like truefire.com only to find that the file is unknown when I try to play it later on. My windows media player seems corrupted to ans I can't re-install. Is this Real Player's doing? any insights appreciated. |

There's a free program called Wiretap that records any audio coming thru your Mac. I forget who makes it. |

What about an equivalent program for Windows XP?

If you already have Soundforge, it will run in a remote window at the same time as any other sound player and can be used to record it and process it later. However it would be a bit of overkill to buy just for that.

Looks like you need to upgrde to Jaguar to use wiretap (MacOSX 10.2 or later).
I have OSX 10.1.5. .....Sigh. |

I took your advice, Scott. It was starting to fall too many OSX versions behind. |
