I have RealOne Player and Windows Media Player on my computer. When I record music from CDs to my hard drive they are wma files. How do I change these files to MP3 files?

Using Real One Player, when you click on "save tracks" another box opens which says, "select tracks." Look closely about 3/4 the way down you'll see another button that says "change settings" Click there and look for "When saving a CD to my library" Just highlight MP3 Audio and save. That's it!

I don't use Windows Media Player so I can't answer that one.

I really like the free product from Music Match. It can be downloaded for free at http://www.musicmatch.com

Roger, the Windows Media player will play MP3 if you go to TOOLS, OPTIONS, FILE TYPES and select your pref.

Unfortunately, Bill Gates wants you to buy the MP3 encoding capability so you have to go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/windowsxp/buypacks.aspx

and get one. Then change the FORMAT in COPY MUSIC tab in the TOOLS, OPTIONS menues.

I'd just use ReadAudio it's free.
