My Operating System is Windows XP Home Edition. Looks like I made a big mistake today. I went to Windows Update and upgraded (yeah, right) from version 8 to version 9. Now I can't copy a music CD. When I try to copy one, I get a message "Windows Media Player Encountered An Unknown Error" and won't let me copy it. I never had this problem before I "upgraded" today.

Any ideas how to overcome this error problem?

Thanks,

Mel

Mel,

I saw that update on their website the other day. I really hesitate at being the first one to grab an update from Micro$oft. It is kind of like a new restaurant in your town. I always give them 30 days to work out the "bugs" in the kitchen and THEN I give it a try.

Anyway, you should be able to go to "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel and select Windows Media Player 9 and just remove it. It should actually drop you back to your previous version.

Mark,

Thanks for the reply, but I can't find any reference to Windows Media Player in the Add/Remove Programs section of Control Panel.

Any other ideas?

Mel
