I deleted Dial-up Networking using the Add/Remove Programs in Windows 95.
Now I want to Add it and the laptop wants a Windows 95 CD which I do not have.
Any ideas on where I can get the files I need without having to purchase a Windows 95 CD.

Windows usually leaves the files on the disk. You might try searching for the file(s) it's asking for and tell Windows to load it from there. That has worked for me in the past.

If that doesn't work, I've seen the CD at yard sales before. It looks they're going for $20-$30 on eBay.

Tim-- Frequently, the Window's system files are contained in a series of 'cabinet's' stored on the hard disk. Using WINDOWS EXPLORER, click on TOOLS/FIND/FOLDERS or FILES. In the FIND ALL FILES window that opens, key *.cab into the NAMED box and COh Well in the LOOK IN box, put a 'checkmark' in INCLUDE SUBFOLDERS and then click FIND NOW.

Hopefully, you will find a large group of similarly named .cab files - probably in a subfolder beneath the Windows folder. The files might be named something like Win95_02.cab, Win95_03.cab, etc. If they are on your disk, enter the path (like c:\windows\options\cabs) when Windows Setup asks for the CDRom.

If you can't find the files, drop me an email. --Everett
