Emergency Start-Up

I'm using Mac OS 10.1.4--has anyone came up with a start up disk that I can boot from & then go into my hard drive? Thanks

Yes, you can boot from a modified installation CD. But if I recall correctly, you have to burn a duplicate copy of the CD after changing some parameters in the System/Library folder. I can't remember what they are at the moment but there was a lot of discussion about this on the various Mac forums. Try searching MacInTouch, MacFixit, or the Apple forums and you'll find it.
