Since got Hit by a virus several week go I am getting an error message each time I bootup. The Message says "Long Filename Backup-Bad command line format".
Does anyone know how I can correct this.
I did an over the top reload of Windows 98SE, this cured another problem I was having but not this one.

Jack,
I have discovered that if I go to msconfig and turn off SULFNBJ off on startup the message goes away. I have restored SULFNBK.EXE from the Windows CD, no difference. I attempted to restore SULFNBJ.EXE from the Windows CD but I get a File not found message. I wonder if SUFFNBJ is a self generated file. If I try to run either file from the command line I get the "Bad command line format" message.
Any more ideas?

I'm not sure what that file is. Try renaming it to oldsulfnbm.exe (or whatever the file name is) and then restart windows and see what happens. It may be a file that windows generates and then it may be a file that is not really needed. If windows doesn't start you'll have to start WIN98 in DOS mode and then rename that file from a DOS prompt (or start windows in safe mode and then rename it through file manager if you can't run dos command line commands).
