John...I have an Am7 tuning on mine. Low to high: A C E G A C (just like the inside 6 of my PSG's C6) Works great, especially for jazz and blues, and it's easy to re-tune to standard bluegrass G tuning from there.

I have been using the Jagwire set available here at the forum. I tune my re-coned Regal to standard C6 and the sound is huge.

My Regal resonator is tuned to C6th:

E - .015p
C - .018p
A - .022p
G - .024p
E - .030 Bronze Wrap
C - .036 Bronze Wrap

I think the "Bronze" is because it's an acoustic string. I got this set from Scotty's music.

If you have been playing dobro in high bass G tuning, you might want to try G6 instead of C6. Just raise the 4th string a whole tone.

From low to high: G, B, E, G, B, D.

Obviously, I used the same gauges as for normal G tuning; however, I broke some 4th strings while changing back & forth, so I would now reduce the gauge of the 4th string, if there is a need to move back & forth in the tuning.

thanks, everybody.
i sticking with the c6 tuning. that's what my lapsteel is, and i just don't have enough brain cells to learn two tunings.

<font face="monospace" size="3"><pre>
E>.015p
C>.018p
A>.022p
G>.026w
E>.032w
C>.038w
</pre></font>
Is what I use and certainly Bronze wound.
