What would be the proper output level on a preamp, the -10 or +4 db setting. My GP-100 has both.

thx

Either one should work, but the +4 may cause distortion, depending on how hard you drive it.

Bob, the MosValve will work with both, you should get optimum power with +4. I would try both to see how much noise is generated. WARNING!! When changing patches that contain large volume jumps, you can blow your speakers if you are running the power amp up very high. Make sure you know the patches you are playing with. Through experience (bad one) I learned to turn the power amp down very low when trying out distrortion and other wacky patches, then bring it up to normal levels and adjust the settings to match your other patches.
Depending on the preamp device and the amount of noise it generates, you may want to turn the output down a little on the pre and crank the MosValve. Experiment, but again keep in mind this beast can get loud!

+4 output is working fine with Mosvalve volume @ 3 O'clock. Output on the preamp around 1/2 way. I like to play near the top of the volume pedal. Mosvalve amp + PV 112 speaker cabs = priceless
