Seeking Info. On Electronics

I often see adds on the forum for various electronic devices, whick I have very little or no knowledge about. Some examples would be the Peavy Tub Fex, the Peavy Addverb III, Effects processors, Etc. Can anyone direct me to a source of info. so that I can get this blank look off my face? Be gentle.

Peavey's own web site would be a good place to start. Manufacturers are happy to tell you more about what their products do, in the hopes that you'll buy them.
Harmony Central has a good explanation of what various effects do to your sound.
This isn't really about lap steels, so I'm moving it to Electronics.
