Barcus Berry pickup ion GFI no ohms reading!

Pickup still has volume, but thin and lower than mt Tele for output (thinnner,too!). Reads zero ohms. Unless this thing is capacitor coupled I assume it is open

This is a good friends guitar and I need to figure out what will fit in it. This guitar is older for sure, the pickup is only about 1/2 thick, molded bottom.

Any idea what might work in it? Anyone got a pickup for sale that will work?

If it reads zero ohms it is shorted. An open circuit reads infinite ohms.
