Goodrich Model 122 pedal

I bought a Goodrich Model 122 pedal for 25 bucks and I need some info on it. It has a pot with large black knob on the right side (the same side as the input output jacks). The pot seems to be factory installed. Does anyone out there know the purpose of this pot? I don't know if is a tone pot or maybe an impedance match function. Antbody out there that is familiar with the 122 pedal,please respond and wise me up on the 122 pedal

Dennis. First of all, you scored. Those are among the very best feeling Goodrich pedals. The knob affects the taper or onset of the volume pedal. If you notice on the side knob, there are little white marks. There is a 1, a 11, and a 111. When the knob is back at 1, it's pretty much a normal pot pedal. As you turn it toward 111, you'll see that the volume comes on faster or earlier. Some say that the quicker onset is good for when a band is loud and you need to have more of your volume pedal range up in the hot area to cut thru. It's a pretty cool mod, but I usually left it back at 1. For some reason, that pedal has an unusually smooth feel to it. If you look inside, you'll notice that the pot is oriented 90 degrees from what's normal today. I think that odd pot alignment has something to do with why it's such a good feeling pedal. $25! Nice work.

That is exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks Brad. The pedal is in great shape, even the pot is quiet and smooth. I am keeping it as a backup to my Goodrich LDR. Mine is the original Goodrich Potless pedal with only one light source. The LDR II has two to add a failsafe light source. I was always nervous about the possibility of a bulb/LED failure in the middle of a gig. Not any more with the 122. Again, Thanks Brad for sharing your knowledge.

I recently plundered my old 122 hoping that the taper pot would make a good volume control pot (it didn't).

Mine didn't feel any better or worse than other Goodrich pedals. Turning it to I instead of III, so the volume comes on later, made the sound a little brighter.

No, I don't want to sell any pedals now. The 122 has just 1 pot in it now.
