Just wondering if anyone has tried this pedal (Dunlop GCB-80) high gauin vol. ped. It seems to have a 250K pot in it, but boasts compatability w/ steel guitar. As I hear from many others, my Goodrich pot is giving me grief, but I insist on a minimal, all analog signal path, so the new potless pedals are not an option for me.

I know next to nothing about volume pedals. You wrote "I insist on a minimal, all analog signal path..." - why is that?

Charlie,
The problem I found with the Dunlop is the mechanism. Instead of employing a string as in the Goodrich and others, it uses a nylon ratcheting system which after some use will wear and commence to slip. I believe that while these pedals may be fine for standard guitar, they will not stand up to demands of steel guitar. |
