I would like to obtain a foot pedal where I could control the volume by shifting my foot from side to side instead of up and down. Could anyone tell me where I might purchase one or special order such a device?

Moved to Electronics from No Peddlers. Good luck on your search - I don't know of such an item myself.

That could easily be done with one of the Fender or Bigsby Tone/Volume pedals- just a bit expensive as those pedals go for a premium (I have 2 Bigsby Tone/Volume pedals at the shop).

Thanks Jim, I will look into the Bigsbys. Did you mean that you have one for sale?

Duane,
The Fender and Bigsby Volume/Tone pedal work like a normal volume pedal, but you can also slide the pedal side ways to change the tone like a mild whaw-whaw pedal. You could find one of these pedals for sale and change the wiring by hooking up the tone actuater to the volume pot. If you don't like it, resolder as it was and sell the pedal.

Duane
I have older Goodrich VP that I purchased from AL Brisco. There is a hand written Model #6PV or #6VP. I got it with the steel rider synth. It had 2 pots One up and down for volume and the other went side to side for panning steel to synth or center for both at the same time. Since then I have removed the pan pot and fixed the swivel. Something like may work for you. Contact Al (Steel Guitars of Canada). I could sell mine but you would have to remove the screws and mount the pan pot so that it controls the volume.
Thanks
Andy.

Thanks Andy, and thanks to everyone that has offered advice. A friend of mine says he can make what I need so I am going to let him try. This can be closed now.
