Calvin,

I have two NV400s. Both of mine have the Peavey Mod in them. They sound very good and have lots of power. The also have the Peavey road worthiness. Very rugged.

Because of my weak back, I had Rick Johnson build me a cabinet for the head of one of my NV400s. This makes two cabs, on about 40 lbs and one about 30 lbs. Very easy to carry either. One extra piece to carry but I haven't hurt my back since I made the change.

Rick makes excellent cabinets and there are several threads on this forum raving about his work. You can see samples at his site rickjohnsoncabs.com. My head cabinet was very reasonable cost wise.

Best Wishes
Tony

For my money, the NV 400 has yet to be beaten as a great all rounder for all occasions.

will it make a good Steel amp ?

thats a joke..right ?

The Nashville 400 's are probably the most commonly used Steel amp out there...

I doubt there are many Steel players that have NOT plugged into one or two or three etc.. , or still don't own one, two, three or more...

great amps..

Probably the most popular and talked about Steel Guitar amp on the planet..or at least in the top 2 or 3.....

also weighs in pretty good too.

Peavey may have made a different amp or two following the N400..but not a better one ...
