I just got a NV112 and have had very little time to fool with it. I am using it with a customized Evans amp with no bell or whistles. It seems to work fine going guitar to vp(two outputs) to each amp. Am I missing out not using the pre and post eq for my volumn pedal?
thanks in advance

Billy,i hooked Les's amp up with his 112&Vegas400.this way...Back of vp to high input on 112 out of the low INPUT to the input of the Vegas...KILLER SOUND,you could use your Evans in Vegas'place....Also you can put a delay in the cable from 112 to Evans..then you can control the volume of the delay with the Evans volume control, sounds bad but IT WORKS...

Many people feel like you do. What I would do is this : (1)Run your guitar straight into the 112 input.(2) Use the pre effects loop with your volume pedal. ( It will give you a better, more even tone, by ensuring the input of the 112 "sees" a full signal from the pickup.) (3) Line out of the 112 to the power amp input of the Evans with an instrument cable.(use the Evans as a slave) That way you can control the gain and tone with the 112. You can get the sweetest tone, AND have a lot of power at the same time!
Look on the peavey website for the info. on using the pre loop for volume pedal. The reason some people do not use it is because they do not want to have to use "an extra cable"
Yet they will use two extra cables for a delay or effects unit......Go figure. [This message was edited by Curt Langston on 18 April 2006 at 08:04 AM.] [This message was edited by Curt Langston on 18 April 2006 at 08:06 AM.] [This message was edited by Curt Langston on 18 April 2006 at 08:07 AM.] |

Would sending the vp through the effects loop on a non-steel Peavey (Heritage VTX) achieve the same thing?
