Help Peavey" Transtube 2-12

Post by Ernest Cawby »

What is this amp mostly used for, is it a good steel amp, or Just a lead amp. I have a silvertone "Made by Marshall" this lead player wants to trade with me for the Transtube 2-12.

I have a Peavey Transtube 2-12 sitting right here! It works great on lead guitar but is not very well voiced for steel guitar. No matter where I set the controls I can't get a full sound out of it, even with the treble all the way off and the bass all the way on.

Voiced for guitar. Not a steel amp, but neither is the silvertone.

My 2 cents! I have the same amp.
I put the chassis in a session 400
box with the black widow 15" and what
a great sound. It will give you all the
highs and lows including C-6th.
Its as good as it gets.

Keith I picked up the silvertone for Nan to use on her 6 string National, sounds oretty good with that.

Keith you did not put a price tag in the package for the strings, let me know and order is on the way.
Also I played the silvertone at the club Jam one month and the guys said it sounded very good on steel, the lowend was very good.Ken fox completely rebuilt it, using Marshall plans,so it was made by Marshall, It has a new Jensen speaker.
