Roger, was the reverb turned up? Sometimes if the amp is in a hum-heavy area you can hear it come thru the reverb return.

i set both 112s beside each other and set eqs and reverb the same, reverb at about 3 and tested each amp separately, the new one just has a hum all by itsself nothing plugged in. allso noticed it this weekend on stage. i used a 2prong adapter which did help a little but still hummed. thanks brad for your concern, i apprciate any help. by the way brad i love my bb, does what i hoped it would do, haven't played with out it since iv'e had it jan 05, except to test with it and with out, but only once. i'm a fast learner.

Hey Roger I have the same problem with mine.Mike Brown is workig on it. Some hum and some don't.Mike Brown told me to take the reverb pan out and sat it on the floor behind the amp and it helped.Could hardly hear the hum.But that doesn't solve the problem.Good luck with yours.

I don't know how loud the hum is for you guys, but one thing to listen for is possible hum that comes from the physical vibrations of the power transformer. Some do it more than others. Mine does it a tiny bit. One time I unhooked the speaker to see if it was electronic, and it was still there. With the speaker unhooked, that kind of nails it down. The kind of hum I'm talking about is pretty slight. It sounds like some of you are getting a more substantial electronic hum.

plugged it in today, now its quiet as a mouse. i called mike and he suggeted to fool around with the reverb tank to see if i could get it to hum again to narrow it down.i'll keep this updated in case any body else has the same problem.

You know..I've had that problem with my 112 since I bought it. I'd be very interested in the solution.
[This message was edited by W Franco on 10 October 2005 at 04:52 PM.]

Brian, I will look into this and respond to you. The reverb 'hum' is not happening on all Nashville 112's, only very few.

I bought a NV 112 from Carter last spring at the Dallas show. After waiting about a month for delivery I set it up and noticed a hum that intensified with increased reverb. Called John Fabian who put me in touch with Peavy. Peavy sent me a UPS shipping way bill, UPS picked it up and delivered it back to me about 10 days later. Its worked fine since. Also, to their credit, Peavy covered all the cost of shipping both ways.
