I've used one since 1960, in 1966 I used it at the "Castaways" night club and It sounded like this..

| I have a 1600 which I used for yrs w/my buds and msa's. Works just as good as any other ped. I still use it infrequently. The pic of yours reminds me of the ped Don Helms used or maybe still uses. He took quite a ribbing from other steel cats about his little ped. CC |

That's the same pedal I used for years.
Has anyone ever used the DeArmond tremolo unit? The one that shook a little glob of mercury around to get the effect. I also still have one of those units.

| Looks like the first pedal I ever used. The string drive pedals have a smoother action and no "gear slack". A new pot is worth more than the pedal. |

My first pedal was that one. I still have it, even though many years ago, I removed the cord and put a jack in that side. Also, changed out the metal rack and gear for nylon ones (DeArmond sent them to me). Have had many pots in it. Still use it mainly for playing standup steel (Fender T-3). Has a comfortable feel for me. Currently have a 500K pot in it.
Works fine.
