| I may be getting a rack mounted Peavey DPC 750 digital power amp and I was wandering which speaker cabinet or cabinets you guys would recommend ? (size,brand model number,one cab. or two etc.)I play a BMI s-10 E9th tuning with a bill Lawernce 705 humbucker pickup.Any info would be greatly appreciated. |

| I have a pair of compact avatar cab's. One has a 15 and the other has a 12 and a horn. Both of them have eminence kappa lf drivers and they sound great! Plus the cab's on weight about 25 pounds. They are 18 x 18 x 17. I have a pair in stereo but they handle enough power (350 watts) that I can get away with just using one cab. |

The Peavey Nashville 112E and the 115E speakers were designed for steelers that were using a unit such as a Profex II and a DPC power amp. The 12" speaker model is what Jeff Newman used.
The Peavey's are no longer made but the BW speakers are still available and make great speakers in the right enclosures. The 12" used the 1203-4 BW speaker and the 15" used the 1501-4 speaker (the same speaker that was used in the later Nashville 400's and what is used in the current production Nashville 1000). |

| Wade: Although my music experience goes way back I am a rookie with PSG. View my comments in that light. I use a DPC750 with a Profex II. I have had a SuperPro, Sierra 12 and an Emmons LeGrand. I used two JBL 15 w/horn cabinets. Late last year I built two cabinets to the Peavey 115 specs with the help of Mike Brown and loaded them with BW 1501-4, Huge difference. Don't know whether it was cabinet design, open backs, back load, or paper cones but they sound great. There are portability issues, weight size etc and some forumites may provide alternatives but I believe the Peavey 115 would be the bench mark for comparison. Good Luck. Wade i use the Nashville 115E's w/BW's with my DPC750/ProfexII --- this is the best sounding rig I have ever used, and I've been playing through it for about 10 years...Although Peavey don't make those cabs anymore I'm sure anything else with the 1504's in it would be pretty spot on.
the 115E's are nice and compact as well so keep the size about the same as those.

| Well it sounds like the verdict is in,the peavey 115 with the 1504 bw speaker.Does anybody know of a company that builds a speaker cabinet that was based on the peavey 115 ? |
