Bobby, the only string effect I heard that sounded decent, was obtained by using a midi setup such as the Roland GR-30. You can get the sound of most any instrument with this equipment. You have to add the midi pickup to your guitar. You are talking BIG BUCKS.

I like the sound I get with a Tubeworks tube driver pedal. I can kick it in or out with my foot, which it convenient when placed right beside my volume pedal. I go from the guitar to the Tube driver, then to the volume pedal so I get plenty of level to the tube. I use single strings, usually 6 through 10, and I just do background pads as strings would do. I use the same pedal for distortion effects on blues or rock style tunes, but I use the higher strings or C6th for that.

Thanks guys. You have been a great help. I use to own a Boss Tone but somewhere it got lost in the fog and I just quit the strings business altogether. Maybe I will just stay that way.
