Hello to all, and thanks for having me. I look forward to sharing enthusiasm for the steel guitar with ya'll. I own a Gibson Consolette and a Gibson BR-4. I am primarily a guitarist, but the steel has interested me since my first guitar lesson. I took grouop lessons, and one student was learning to play steel guitar. I got a few clues to steel playing in that manner.
I recently picked up a Fender Deluxe from the '40's and need some help. The string-through pickup is missing one of the magnets that sit on each end of the coil. Is there any hope for finding an accurate replacement, which I assume should be an Alnico magnet? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I sent the pickup to Seymour Duncan. Maricela in their custom shopo says she is very vamiliar with the pickup and they can do the job for me. Seymour personally replied that some Fender laps of this type only had one magnet and that SD could build new magnet/s for the pickup.
This Deluxe was in such sad shape that I bought it just for the knobs. I guess it is a restoration project now.
