Personally, I love it especially the part where he let the steel do the work (with no picking)...it was darned clever. |

Maybe someone can post the version Jeff's refering to...I don't have it, but I have heard it, and concur with Jeff's description of the "Chinese 5th" type of harmonies..

Does anyone know of any CD`s besides the History of Hawaiian Steel on Cord where I can hear Jules? I`m sorry to say I just got hip to him and I sure would like to hear more. |

One of the great crooners of all time.
Bing Crosby said he was the greatest ever,
I have Hawiian Favoirites with Danny Stewarts band.
Be fore I move down south, I recorded a very nice version of Sleepy Lagoon, with a Paris buddy.
He had borrowed a triple neck for the session, but wasn't used to the tunes, more a dobro cat,
so only 63 takes for the steel part LOL.
Came out nice anyway.
Just heard Geralds posted clip. Cool, song.
I like the slack-key intro
It has indian influences in the singlenote solo section, but I don't really hear the chinese.
I do like it, and a nice ukelele line too.

Sounds like a good tune for Jeff to play at the Convention, without the "vanilla" |
