If a pickup is not open, it should light a 3 volt continuity checker, correct?

I know my scant knowledge of electronic theory is showing here; but it is very scant.

Many thanks, Rick

If you are talking about a Continuity Checker, where you can light up a lamp by checking to see if a Circuit is open or not, I would doubt it. The Pickup, if not open, may have 6K to 20K resistance in the winding and your lamp not light up. Check your pick up with an Ohmmeter if you have one. If you get a resistance of around 14 to 20 K ohms your pickup is probably good.
