ave some mighty fine Avatar Bass 12 cabs with a horn that have the Eminence Kappa Pro 400 Watt woofer that I used in my band for bass. They just did not match up for non pedal for me soundwise, but now that I have a Fender 1000 PSG thay sound pretty darn good with a Tubeworks head. Is there a difference between using the full range speaker for guitar amps and a bass/PA style woofer with your PSG ? Do most pedalers prefer one or the other speaker type , or does it make no difference ?

thanks for any comments

I'm one of a few who occasionally use bass speakers. Most players don't like the loss of highs, since the top end rolls off pretty fast. It doesn't bother me too much, though.

I wouldn't use the PA-type sub woofers.

A bass speaker can work because it's a full range speaker, like a JBL D140. A woofer on the other hand has no good upper mids or highs so wouldn't sound very good for a guitar or steel or bass for that matter.
