10s are all too bright and harsh for me. I prefer a 15. So I would say find the one with the best low response.

John, it all depends on the sound you want. Tell us who sounds good (to you), and the type of music you want to play, and we can make better suggestions. Also, we'd like to hear about your present equipment. What are you using now as far as speaker, amp, and guitar?

Most steelers use fifteens which are not of the "bass guitar" variety.
