John, I have both, started with the Bandit. There is no comparison, the 112 is voiced for steel, it helps my GFI sound like it should. The Bandit works well for 6string, but is real thin for steel. That's how I hear it.JP

Mike Brown went into detail with me on this subject. The NV112 was engineered specifically for steel guitar. The Bandit, for Lead guitar.
The speaker is one of the key differences. Also the input stage is designed for a HI-Z steel guitar pickup.
I own a Bandit 112 and a Nashville 112. The Nashville 112 sounds much better and louder than the Bandit, when used with my steel guitar.
The Bandit serves me fine as a practice amp in the home.

All of the above answers are correct. However, through our 28 years of designing steel amplifiers, and our 40 years of designing six string electric guitar amplifiers, we have learned what appeals to these two groups of musicians. We've combined that experience and knowledge and have developed some of the best amps in these two markets.

The speaker, the cabinet design, the type of power amp and the preamp design all have a bearing on what the end result is, and this is what it takes to design an amplifier that steelers want to play. Same reasoning with six string guitar amps.
