Ampeg Combo: Clicking in Tremolo Circuit?

Just fired up this nice old late-60s combo. It sounds great, except for static-y click in time whith the trem. If I turn off the trem it vanishes.
Any amp gurus out there who might know what's going on? Any help will be much appreciated.
